Costs will depend on the size of the boat and the most suitable mode of transport on the required route. If the size of your boat can be reduced in anyway this can lead to significant savings.
Dependent on whether you have a motor launch, a boat on a trailer or a yacht with a mast we will source the best shipping option for you.
LOLO – (Lift on / Lift off)
The boat is loaded from either the water or the wharf on to the vessel and back to either water or wharf at discharge.
The boat is loaded onto a flat rack away from the wharf and presented alongside the vessel for loading.
RORO (Roll on / Roll off)
The boat can be either on a trailer or a cradle and is loaded inside the vessel.
FOFO (Float on / Float off)
The boat is motored on and off a semi submerged vessel.
We can supply suitable shipping cradles if required by the shipping line.
Dependent on the service mode the shipper may be required to supply chains and / or soft lashings that we can organise these on your behalf.
We can organise shrink wrapping of your boat if required. For certain modes we would recommend this.
If your boat is some distance from the port of loading and needs to be delivered away from the port of discharge we are able to arrange the inland transport.
Most carriers will insist that a marine surveyor is employed to ensure that the boat is loaded and lashed suitably for shipment by sea. We have experienced surveyors available who organise the lashing plan as well as supervise the loading and lashing.
Insurance should be in place for the voyage and we can offer this to you or you are free to organise yourself.
Due to strict quarantine inspections by local authorities on arrival it is important that your boat is presented clean both inside and out. The bilges should be cleaned and clear of water, insides vacuumed and no food or consumables left on board. The hull should be steam cleaned and all areas (including propellers and stabilisers) should be clear of all remnants of marine life.
Security and Safety:
Your boat should be secured with doors and hatches locked where applicable and valuables out of sight. Batteries need to be disconnected and wires taped. The fuel tanks should be no more than ¼ full (this would be deemed “Hazardous Cargo” by most shipping lines) or preferably empty.
In order to meet the customs requirements at both load and discharge points we would require either a copy of the Bill of Sale or a commercial invoice. Our service includes full Export Customs, Import Customs and local Agriculture Department Clearance services.

If exporting to Australia you should be aware of the following:
- All trailers need to have a permit to enter Australia and this needs to be in place PRIOR to loading.
- CFC gasses in fridges and air-conditioning units need to be removed from the system unless a permit is held by the importer.
